About Sea Breeze

I have always been lucky that almost my entire life I have lived close by the sea. When I was little (and still living in Holland), it was only a 10/15 minutes ride by bicycle and I would be on the beaches of Hellevoetsluis, the place where I lived for almost 20 years. That is where I discovered my love for the sea.

I always loved to create things with shells. To collect those, it took many beach walks, but okay... there are worse things to do in your free time! After I moved away from Holland I travelled for about a year before I ended up in Greece. I have been lucky to live on the beautiful island of Zakynthos for 8 years that has long sandy beaches, where you can find the most beautiful shells (especially after a southern Sirocco storm).

I found out there are plenty of possibilities with arts and crafts. After years of making things only for family and friends, I started about 8 years ago to produce for others as well. In the meantime I had met my sweet Belgium friend Carine, who at that time also made lots of things herself, for the shop she was working at. She offered to sell my products as well (and funny enough they did sell). Carine was of course a professional for years, whereas I had just started, but I learned quickly and love what I am doing. Both Carine and I are working in tourism for many years now (and Carine also does real estate), but we create beautiful things in our free time, which means mostly during the winter season.

In the meantime I have moved away from Zakynthos. I went to Athens for a year and then I moved to again another beautiful island: Rhodes! This island feels like my home, it is the most beautiful place I know and there is only one negative thing I can think of here: there are hardly shells to be found on the beaches... but that gives me a reason to travel!

In the beginning I only worked with shells. Now I have also started working with wood, mosaic, paper mache and gypsum. At this moment I am still producing for family and friends, but I mostly accept assignments from people that have been introduced to my products or that have seen this website.

Thank you for visiting this website and please do not hesitate to contact me if you should have any questions. You can send an email to seabreezegreece@gmail.com.
